I experimented with the Slippery Sid wire in tube model railway points/signals operating system many years ago. I wanted a system that was:
Non electrical.
Could operate in a linear fashion to operate track points (turnouts) simply.
Flexible and easy to cut to length.
A very low friction system.
Flexible so that it could curve around obstacles.
Inexpensive and reliable.
Useable on many different scale model railways.
Small in size and easily hidden on a model railway baseboard.
Reliable when operating points/signals/gates etc.
So I invented the SLIPPERY SID MINI WIRE IN TUBE OPERATING SYSTEM.
Each pack comes in a 5 metre length of wire and outer clear "plastic" tube. The wire in tube is flexible and can be cut to length.
SLIPPERY SID MINI.
Suitable for OO, HO and N gauge model railways etc.
The outside diameter of the tube is 1.6mm approximately.
The steel wire outside diameter is 0.46mm approximately.
The cost of the pack is £18.95 including U.K. Postage & Packing.
Cheques and Postal Orders made payable to A. Brittain are acceptable at present.
